Upanayan Samskaar

 

Instructions

  • Fasting is preferred.  The Poojan to be done while facing East, North-East or North.

  • No leather wallet, belt or leather write watch should be worn.

  • Quietness is preferred. Please keep all cellphones switched off or on vibration mode.

  • Duration of Pooja will be 4.5 plus hours.

 

List of Items (Please contact if any of the items cannot be found)

  • 4 Bajoth (Chauki), 2 Copper Kalash, Red silk or Velvet clothe (2’ x 4’) to cover Bajoth

  • 6 Steel dish, 12 small steel bowls, 6 steel spoons

  • 48 Sopari (betelnut), 16 Paan leaves, 1 Lb. Rice, ½ Lb. whole wheat

  • Kumkum-Chandan, Nadachhadi (Moli or Kalawa), 5 Janoi

  • Water, Panchamrut, Ghee-Gud or Modak, Sweets, Dry-fruit Prasadam, Various Fruits, 3 Coconuts

  • Akhand Deep (Diya), 3 Deep, Aarti (5 Deep), Incense sticks, Karpur, Match Box, Ghee for Diya

  • Ganesh Idol, Ambika Idol, (12) Dollar bills, 20 Quarter coins, Silver Cow (3) or Equal Dakshina at 3 Occasions

  • Loose Flowers (Marigold, Rose etc.), Tulsi, Durwa, Darbh

  • Paper Napkins, Cloth Napkins, small Trash Bag, and Big Bowl to get the extra water out.

  • Hawan Samagri, Ghee, Hawan wood sticks, Camphor, Hawan Kund (Fire-Pit)

  • 4 feet long 3/4" thick wooden stick, white or cream cotton or silk Dhoti (1)

  • Dupatta like clothe for Gath-Bandhan, Manek-Stambh, Pithi

  • White colored 4' x 6' clothe to cover Guru-Shishya while Diksha

  • Final Poojan and Conclusion

 

Dakshina (Donation) charges for Upanayan Samskaar Poojan will be $751.00.
